Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GSMNP)

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park Smoky Mountains National Park is the most popular park in our Park System. Covering over a half-million acres of pristine hiking trails, nature trails, trout fishing streams, waterfalls, wildflowers, and wildlife, it is a must see for any visit to the Gatlinburg TN area. The Smoky Mountains National Park became so popular that it fostered the quick and extensive development and growth of several small but exciting towns and villages such as Gatlinburg. These towns provide a diverse selection of lodging, dining and attractions for the 10 million travelers to the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg area. Lodging accommodations include Gatlinburg cabin rentals. All are near the National Park.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park consists of 77 pioneer structures, and more than 1,100 front country campsites, 100 backcountry campsites, over 800 miles of hiking trails, nearly 700 miles of streams, 11 guest picnic grounds, and 3 main visitor centers plus two other less used Park entry points. Extensive wildlife are protected here and include the American black bear, newly introduced elk, whitetail deer, wild turkey, and many other smaller wildlife.
